Great processor, minimal cooling required for overclock
45nm CPUs produce little heat (like this one) and it easily runs at whatever a motherboard's FSB wall is. My X38 (GA-X38-DQ6) board is running at 467MHz FSB and with the 8x multiplier resulting in a clock of 3.73GHz! Very good CPU for money, all done on the provided heatsink and thermal paste.
Upgraded from Q6600 to this, was running the Q6600 at 3.2GHz to compare to this processor at 3.2GHz, both using 8x multiplier (although the Q66 can use 9x), and the X3350 (Q9450) is about 8-10% faster clock for clock using data processing applications on all 4 cores due to the shrink in size and change to hafnium... Much more energy efficient!
Very good product and a must buy for self system builders. Most people who buy the QX9650 can only get about 200-300MHz faster on air cooling... More than $2 per MHz! This is what you should buy.
